How hotels are chosen
Every hotel in a guide is there on its merits: the pool, the setting, the location and what guests say about it. The order of a list is our editorial judgment of how well each hotel fits the guide.
We work with hotels and brands. When a collaboration is connected to a page, the page says so.
2
Research and sources
We start from primary sources: the hotel's own website, its official photos and its official listings. Other sources, such as booking platforms, maps and press coverage, help us cross-check the facts.
Where sources disagree or look out of date, we say so instead of guessing. Prices change daily, so we treat any price as a guide, not a quote.
3
Fact-checking
Every new or updated page goes through a separate fact-check before it is published. Each checkable claim, from where the pool sits to what it looks out on, is compared with the sources. Anything we cannot confirm is corrected or removed.
Some older pages were written before this process was in place. We are reviewing them against these standards and updating them as we go.
4
Bylines
Our pages are signed by Traveling Eye rather than by individual writers: each one is the work of a small team following the same process (more about us).
We do not use invented authors, reviewers or personas.
5
How we use AI
We use AI tools in our work, and we want to be clear about where. They help us gather facts from sources, write first drafts and find the claims that need checking. They do not decide on their own which hotels make a list, and every page is reviewed by a person before it is published.
The decorative images on travelingeye.com are illustrations, and some of them are generated with AI. They never show a specific hotel. On our guides, a hotel is only shown with photos of that hotel.
6
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we fix it as soon as we can confirm the correct information. When a correction changes what a page recommends, for example because a pool has closed, we note it on the page.
To report an error, write to [email protected] with the page and what needs fixing. Hotels can also write to partnerships@travelingeye.com.
7
How we make money
Our guides may include affiliate links to booking sites. If you book through one of them, we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you.
Affiliate links do not change the price you pay. Sponsored content and paid partnerships are always labeled as such.
8
Hosted stays
If a hotel or brand hosts us, we say so on the page.
Stays we pay for ourselves are marked too, so you always know how we experienced a hotel.
